3/4 powdered sugar
1 tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
2. Bake about 10 minutes or until light brown. Mix remaining ingredients except Lemon Glaze; pour over baked layer.

Lemon Glaze
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon juice
Stir ingredients until smooth.
BETTY'S TIP: Here's an easy rule of thumb-one fresh lemon will give you 2 to 3 tablespoons of juice. To get the most juice out of a lemon, it should be at room temperature. Some people like to zap whole lemons in the microwave on High for about 20 seconds or so to warm them.

How to warm up your house.
Time is slipping away. Time never stops that is not what it is suppose to do. It is time to think about shutting the windows and turning on the heat but before we close Mother Nature out let's take a moment and look at our house. Beach chic is in but it time to leave the beach and pay attention to our house.

The Summer Isn't Over Yet!
Rest is not idleness, and to lie sometimes on the grass under the trees on a summer's day, listening to the murmur of water, or watching the clouds float across the blue sky, is by no means a waste of time." ~ Sir John Lubbock
No, Summer isn't over yet. We have one more big weekend coming up soon. Labor Day is
September 1, but the kids are back into school and there are sales to visit.
So we need ideas that are quick and easy and festive.
So Let's Enjoy the Dog Days of Summer

T-Shirt Basket Tutorial
T-shirt yarn is very 'in' right now, I explored the market for it. I found 2 kinds, Spaghetti and Fettuccine. Then I also bought material, sewed it together in a tube and then cut it into a continuous strip. Sort of worked out, sort of didn't. I will explain later. I also bought t-shirts and make yarn out of those. Again, we will discuss that later.
All of these were made using one pattern. It is not my pattern this is how one would form a circular pattern, Using this pattern you can continue on with hats and just about anything that is round.

I love Fall
There is nothing that compares to fall. The days are warm and the nights are cool, great sleeping weather. It is a time of wealth for sounds, colors and smells. The sounds of crumble leaves under our feet, the colors of the leaves, burnt orange, fire red, sunflower yellow and a plethora of every shade of browns against a sky of white billowing clouds.
It almost overwhelms our senses. Suddenly the cool crisp air is full of the smells of burning wood, wet leaves, pumpkins, and apples. We enter into a world of beauty every where we look. You say that you aren't ready to surrender summer. The sun, fun, and recreational sports but there is a change in air. The first preseason football game is scheduled, there is talk of the World Series, You notice all of the Halloween, Fall, and Thanksgiving decorations are in the stores. Bombarding you with thoughts of decorating.

Decorating season is here. We need to decorate everything that doesn't move. Get out the accent light, wreaths and baking dishes. Baking, it is harvest time, time to make Zucchini Bread, can those peaches, and core those apples.
Back to decorating. God will take care of the countryside. You need to pay your attention to the house and yourself.

Happy Hookers
I love these pillow.
I did a hooked a rug but I love the pillows. They wouldn't be hard to do. I think that I will try.
Just buy the canvas- get the letters and stencil them onto the canvas. Buy the yarn that you love or the colors shown. Any craft stores will carry the auto cutter and start latch hooking.

Let's Have a Non Traditional Fall
Fall is associated with the colors of burnt orange, brown and sunflower yellow, but what if you want to do other colors. Here are a few samples of how to liven up your décor with non traditional colors.
Paint your acorns turquoise. It certainly is eye catching.

Fairy Gardens
I love fairy gardens. To me I know that a fairy lives in my gardens. Years ago, my cousin Mary would make these gardens for your landscaping nursery. She is so creative (not like me). Well, since then they have gained in popularity. I thought that we should explore the life of a fairy. In this garden, the creator lite the garden for her little fairy.
